BC Building Code, NAFS Certified & Energy-Efficiency/Performance

Make sure the product you’re choosing, at minimum, meets the latest BC Building Code, and is NAFS compliant and certified for your region. Compare the performance ratings between different products by looking at the energy and performance ratings, and the quality of the window components or the entire door assembly. In many cases, prices have a direct correlation to the end quality you’ll receive.

Choose local and or Canadian made product whenever possible. There are high quality products that are not only manufactured in British Columbia, but some are even made right here in the beautiful Okanagan – Penticton to be exact! These products are designed specifically for our climate and the wide range of temperatures we experience here.

Aside from supporting local businesses, opting for Canadian-made products often means selecting products that comply with high quality and safety standards. Canadian manufacturers must adhere to strict regulations and criteria, ensuring the safety and superiority of their products.

Warranty & Service & Replacement Parts

A reliable warranty is essential for protecting your investment. Review the warranty length and terms, including coverage for materials, hardware, glass and labour. Be aware of any limitations or conditions outlined in the warranty. Ask questions about warranty and service procedure, such as who is responsible for service requests and how long do service requests typically take to be resolved. This is important information, as some manufacturers that are not local have reps that only service the area a few times a year. This would mean long waits for customers experiencing any issues that may need attention. Check if the manufacturer provides replacement parts and if they are readily available. This can be important in case you need to replace a specific component in the future.
